Answers For Questioners1. What do I get when I start a GuruStorm?
You get an online consulting session with the Guru of your choice. It's more than just Q&A. Once you post your GuruStorm, you'll have an online work session with your Guru over as many virtual whiteboards you need to solve your problem. Each whiteboard will include detailed ideas, comments, and also up-and-down voting.2. How much does a GuruStorm cost?
The financial reward for a GuruStorm can range from $1 to $10000. A Guru can also offer to Storm for free, or can request a charitable contribution instead of a financial reward.3. How long does a GuruStorm last?
A GuruStorm can last from 1 to 365 days. Most Storms last 3 to 5 days, but you can set up a Storm for as long as you need to work with your Guru.4. How do I know what to offer a Guru (and how long of a Storm do I need)?
Each Guru will have a suggested reward and duration that they recommend for doing a Storm. You can always suggest a different reward or duration, and the Guru will let you know if the agree with your suggestion or not. They might accept it, decline it or counter with a new offer of their own. This process will allow you and the Guru to negotiate a reward and duration that you both agree upon for your GuruStorm.5. What happens during the GuruStorm?
The Guru comes and gives their best expert advice, creating as many whiteboards as are needed to throroughly address your challenge. On each whiteboard you and the Guru can leave comments on each other's responses, and also do simple up-and-down voting.6. What happens at the end of the GuruStorm?
Once the duration of the Storm is over, either the Questioner or the Guru can close the Storm. Once that is done, the Guru will receive the financial reward that was negotiated, and the Questioner will be able to review the Guru, giving them a 1 to 5 star rating, plus the opportunity to write an evaluation of the GuruStorm session.7. Is my GuruStorm private?
Your GuruStorm is not public. It can only be viewed by you, the Guru, any additional Storm participants you might invite, and the GuruStorms administrators.8. Who owns the content that is created?
In order to fulfill the purpose of the site, the right to use the content generated is granted to all participants in a GuruStorm and to The Storms Network, creators of the GuruStorms site and service. The full details can be found in our Terms and Conditions.
Answers For Gurus1. How do you select your Gurus?
We believe that every professional has some unique expertise to offer. We use LinkedIn as the starting point for each Guru application, taking the public profile there, and then including the professional experience, credentials, and accolades as the basis for the Guru's profile.2. I would make a great Guru. How do I sign up?
If you are an accomplished professional with unique skills and insight to offer to our online community, we would love to have you as a Guru on our site. You can sign up here.3. I know someone who would make a great Guru. How can I let you know?
4. What are my responsibilities as a Guru?
The most important one is to provide your best expert advice on a timely basis for each GuruStorm. Just respond to the email alert that GuruStorms sends when a GuruStorm is launched, and provide your best ideas and opinions for the Storm. Your other obligations as a GuruStorms community member can be found here.5. How much do I earn for each GuruStorm?
The reward for each GuruStorm is negotiated between the Guru and the Questioner before the Storm starts. The Storms Network, creators of GuruStorms, takes a 15% fee from all financial rewards, or a 5% fee to cover the costs where a chartiable contribution is offered instead. There are no fees or costs for conducting a free GuruStorm on the site.6. How do I get paid?
Once the Storm is closed, you will receive an email that the payment for it is being processed. If you have earned more than $600 in rewards for the current calendar year, you will need to complete a 1099 before your payment can be completed.7. How long does it take to receive payments?
Payment are made with 5 days of the GuruStorm closing or your completed 1099 is received.
